Having been born and raised in the Midwest until joining the US Army to get the GI Bill, I’ve developed a keen appreciation for baseball, Chicago style pizza, a well-made bed, shoeshines, and a haircut.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the premium and ultra luxury segment of automotive retail and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, I’ve discovered the secret sauce to operating successful teams is through a passion for people, whether by teaching teammates how to provide an exceptional experience for our customers, or by creating an environment and culture of top tier professionalism for our Associates.
I started right out of active duty selling Dodge cars and trucks for a year. Then BMW became a focus for 18 of the last 30 years, moving up the ranks from Sales Associate, Finance Manager, Sales and General Sales Manager, into General Manager and Managing Partner positions. Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Maserati, and Volvo have also been franchises I’ve worked and managed during my career.
I’ve had the privilege of leading a Team voted two years in a row, as an Automotive News ‘100 Best Dealerships To Work For Award’ recipient. In 2021, I spent the year in a Chief Operating Officer role for the Automotive Division of a Group with multiple franchised dealerships throughout the Republic of Mexico. Not only did this give me an opportunity to enjoy fantastic Mexican cuisine and perhaps a little tequila, but I also learned about substantive differences operating stores in Mexico, plus was able to use my experience to bring methods and processes from the USA to their business.
My love of automobiles goes back to when I was a little boy, and my appreciation for the interesting and often kind people out in the world, makes coming to work both fun and interesting every day.
